About Me

Hi, I’m Daniel!
Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist · Licensed in Nevada and Oregon
Working with adults, couples, families, and teens

From the classroom to the therapy room.
I spent more than 20 years in secondary and higher education as a teacher, advisor, and college instructor. Over five years ago, I brought that experience into the therapy room, and I’ve spent the years since helping clients find their way through life’s challenges. My years in education gave me a front-row seat to the challenges teens, families, and adults face. They also showed me how much growth becomes possible when someone feels truly heard. Today, I bring that same perspective to therapy, supporting clients through life transitions, emotional growth, and personal development.

What I help clients with.
I specialize in depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges. I help clients build coping skills, strengthen communication, and create healthier connections. I also provide anger management support, offering practical tools for emotional regulation and lasting change. As a Certified Grief Informed Professional, I’m prepared to walk alongside you through loss and the changes that come with it.

How I work with clients.
I’m a compassionate, open-minded therapist, and my goal is to create a space where you feel heard and understood. That holds whether you’re dealing with depression, anxiety, or relationship struggles, or simply feeling overwhelmed. I blend empathy, resilience, and even a touch of humor to help you find balance during difficult times. Therapy isn’t just about tools and strategies. It’s about building a real connection, discovering new perspectives, understanding yourself more deeply, and creating lasting change.

My approach in the therapy room.
I don’t follow a single method… Instead, I blend approaches to meet you where you are, drawing on whatever fits your needs at each point in our work. Here are some I use most often:

  • Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT): We identify and challenge the thinking patterns that keep you stuck, so you can respond to life’s difficulties in healthier ways.

  • Yield Theory: I listen and validate before we explore options together, so you feel understood before we work on solutions.

  • Motivational Interviewing: A collaborative conversation that helps you find and strengthen your own reasons for change, at your own pace.
